Think About It

In our land of tremendous opportunity, lifelong poverty is sadly common - though rarely chosen.
"It's a feeling of being powerless by yourself; of living from day to day; of being treated without respect. It's working till you hurt and always coming up short."
More working families are living in poverty than ever before. Three out of four children in poverty watch someone go to work everyday, only to return home with not enough to make ends meet. Hard work is no longer a guarantee against poverty.
"It's being forgotten, almost invisible to almost everybody. It's being looked down on, regardless of reason."
One in six children in America lives in poverty. And every year that America's 12 million children spend in poverty costs this country more than $100 billion in future spending...because their educational loss is our economic loss.
