-First convened in 1981; generally meets once a year but has not convened since 2008
-Chaired on the Catholic side by Archbishop Emeritus Oscar Lipscomb of Mobile
-Staffed by Fr. Ronald Roberson, CSP, on behalf of the Secretariat
-Produced five agreed statements
-Participants include seven bishops from each church
